Galway Downs ~ Here We Come!

It is time for me to step out of the kitchen and hit the road…girls, horses & Tuffy in tow.  In the early hours, well before dawn on Monday morning, we will begin the 11-hour journey south to Temecula, California.  Our destination: the Galway Downs 2013 International Three-Day Event & Horse Trials.  Both Madison & Mallory are competing this year and although the show does not officially open until Thursday, our first few days there will be filled with competitor briefings, veterinary exams and training sessions.  But in true eventing style, there will be plenty of fun to be had for these hard-working riders…a Welcome Party, a Halloween Party, a Friday Night Taco Party with live music, as well as the traditional {and always rowdy} Competitors’ Party.  Mallory turns 13 on Friday, November 1st and there may be a little surprise awaiting her at the Taco Party this year…stay tuned!

But, before I go, I thought I would leave you a little pumpkin inspiration {after all, Halloween is right around the corner}…

I won’t be in the kitchen for the next week but, for your cooking enjoyment, check out all of the possibilities here, here and here!   You can also follow along with the girls and I on our adventure via Instagram.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

  1. Am on a pumpkin binge almost daily, but making chickens tonight for dinner, so I stopped by here for a little inspiration. Have a great time (again!) in Galway. Good luck to the girls.

    • Nothing better than a Sunday chicken dinner. Last horse show of the season! Traveling back East on a college expedition in November but would love to see you before we ring in 2014. Wasn’t that the funniest email Michael sent to the two of us earlier this week…I laughed the entire day! Halloween in the ‘Burg…always a good time~enjoy!
