What’s for dinner?

It is a cool, late September morning & the fog is thick on the San Francisco bay.  The children are about to head off to school.  I have just poured myself a cup of Blue Bottle coffee and I sit down in front of my computer in order to compose my first blog entry.

Oh my…where do I begin?

I am not a “blogger”… I am a blog follower.  As a wife & mother raising three children and feeding a family of five, I have come to depend on all of those amazing food blogs, with their beautiful photographs and artfully crafted recipes, for inspiration.  Now I sit with a blank white box and a flashing cursor glaring back at me.

As the children get ready to leave, my youngest daughter, Mallory, comes over to me and delivers a hug & kiss goodbye, asking:  “Mom, what’s for dinner”?

And so I have my beginning…

The Dinner Concierge is my family’s weekly dinner journal.  It is a place for me to collect & organize all of the recipes gathered from cookbooks, magazines, blogs, etc. into weekly dinner plans that work for our family.  It is my weekly answer to the question “What is for dinner”?

Our week begins with Sunday dinner and continues until Friday.  Friday dinners are usually casual & fun, celebrating the end of the week and kicking off the weekend.  Saturdays we always leave open…

If you have found this page during your internet travels, bear with me as I navigate the ins & outs of building a blog…eventually it will all come together!  Thanks for stopping by…

  1. Even though my children are grown and (mostly) married I am so excited to see what’s for dinner next week! Please keep sharing all your stories and menus. Great idea, and hopefully great things will grow out of this blog. Looking forward to suggestions for Thanksgiving, hint, hint…
