A few notes on this week’s menu…

SUNDAY:  HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!  Unfortunately, Michael needs to leave this evening for a few days of meetings in Finland.  We are heading into San Francisco for an early dinner and then bringing him to the airport.

MONDAY:  Max starts practicing for Freshman {High School!} Football today.  Three-hour practices everyday this week equals one hungry boy…even with Michael gone this week, I will be making extra of everything!  Click here to read “The Best BLT I’ve Ever Made” from Bon Appétit’s, Project Recipe Blog.  Blogger Chris Hall makes these sandwiches sound amazing and we love having sandwiches for casual dinners during the summer…Max will be having two.

TUESDAY:  School is out and Max is enjoying “sports heaven” this week.  Not only does he have football practice everyday but his baseball team is currently in the playoffs.  They won their first game on Saturday…12-0.  If they win their game on Sunday morning the championship game is tonight out on Treasure Island.  This Layered Cobb Salad is a favorite of ours but it may not be happening if it turns into a baseball evening…we will see.

WEDNESDAY:  One way or another, Max’s regular baseball season is over but he was named to the TPLL All-Star Team {which means he will be practicing up until the All-Star Game early in July} and those practices begin today {after football}.  Steamed Mussels with Wine & Garlic is one of his favorite dinners…how many pounds of mussels do you think I need to buy for, what will be {I am sure} one hungry boy?  Maybe a loaf of bread, just for him?

THURSDAY:  Michael is home!! And this is the dinner he asked for…this hearty, rich Ragú Bolognese {click here for the recipe} is pure comfort food…perfect for a “Welcome Home” dinner.  The left-over bruschetta from Wednesday’s dinner will be made into croutons for our salad which will be tossed with this Classic Homemade Caesar Dressing.

FRIDAY:  The week began with sandwiches and it is ending with sandwiches…but, these Truffled Filet of Beef Sandwiches are pretty special.  I have made these several times when we are entertaining guests and they are always a hit.  I have a surprise in mind for this “end of a very long week” dinner…I think I can make it work, even with Max’s late football practice, but again…we will see.  In any event, these decadent sandwiches will be a treat and a lovely way to end the week.  Click here to see my recipe for Homemade Baked Potato Chips.

Have a Wonderful Week Everyone!
