A few notes on this week’s menu…

SUNDAY:  I have mentioned on several occasions that nothing says “Sunday Dinner” like a roasted chicken and with the arrival of summer, Sunday’s chicken dinner begins on the grill rather than in the oven.  This evening, I will be cooking 2 butterflied whole chickens on the grill {click here to see How to Butterfly a Chicken} seasoned with a light marinade of the Citrus~Parmesan Vinaigrette we enjoyed earlier this week.  This vinaigrette will also dress our salad tonight.

MONDAY:  Leftover meat from Sunday’s grilled chicken will be tossed into this salad from Jerusalem, A Cookbook, by Yotam Ottolenghi & Sami  Tamimi


TUESDAY:  This simple Cherry Tomato Vinaigrette is featured in the current edition of Bon Appétit and with it’s few, fresh ingredients…cherry tomatoes, olive oil, chopped shallot, red wine vinegar, chopped chives…{together with a handful of Feta crumbles} will make a wonderful topping to pasta.


WEDNESDAY:  Max graduates from the 8th grade!!  This evening will be filled with “pomp & circumstance”, a parade of graduates in convertibles, a huge “family” dinner and a few parties.  CONGRATULATIONS MAX!

THURSDAY:  This Salt-Grilled Shrimp dish comes from the restaurant Michael Mina, San Francisco where I have enjoyed it a few times.  I was so excited to see the recipe divulged in Bon Appétit’s R.S.V.P section this month.  I think the shrimp will pair well with my favorite Lemon Risotto.


FRIDAY:  Grilled steak and this lovely salad will make an easy dinner for our first Friday of summer vacation…

  1. Every Sunday I’m amazed and impressed that you come up with so many new dishes. I’m inspired to be more creative in the kitchen! I’ll never get in a cooking rut if I just follow along here.
