A few notes on this week’s menu…

SUNDAY ~  we are finishing up at the Woodside Spring Horse Trials tonight…probably sharing a few carrots & apples with the horses for dinner this evening before pulling the trailer through San Francisco on the way home.

MONDAY ~ Memorial Day!  Official BBQ season has arrived…throwing flank steak on the grill & some corn.  Basically, we are exhausted from the last four days and steak on the grill {with corn} will be easy & satisfying.

TUESDAY ~ Michael leaves at 4am for Japan, on business, for the week.  The children & I are keeping it simple but satisfying with this hearty soup…first day back after a holiday weekend is always tough.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY ~ Michael is in Japan so we thought we would share Asian-inspired dinners “with” him from afar.  The children adore asian noodles and I will toss in some seafood and vegetables for simple yet healthy meals.

FRIDAY ~ Michael is HOME & this is the dinner he requested.  The salad is an adaptation of the traditional caesar salad, substituting lacinato kale for the romain and using a much lighter dijon vinaigrette with lemon for the dressing.
